Tara Ezell - Neurofeedback Specialist

Hello!

Thank you for taking an interest in Greenbroke Braintraining!

I'm Tara, the owner and operator of GBBT.

I am a certified Braincore neurofeedback provider,

A certified Life Coach,

I hold a B.S. in Psychology from Troy University, and,

(I)MPsy from Troy University

I also also have certifications in marine mammal behavior and training, therapy dog training and as a physical therapy aide.

Before forming Greenbroke Braintraining, I was an animal trainer, zookeeper and wildlife educator for wildlife rescue and rehabilitation facilities in Florida and Tennessee. I have trained or worked with everything from dolphins to apes, dogs, cats, and pigs to sloths, toucans, bears and tigers.

The basis of all of the animal training I have done is operant conditioning.

Neurofeedback therapy is also based on operant conditioning. It uses positive reinforcement to form normative brainwave patterns and negative reinforcement for dysregulated patterns.

In the training world, positive means the addition of something, like a treat, or perfect volume and picture of a show, and negative means, the subtraction of something, like the volume or crystal clear picture of something you enjoy watching.

So, that's where Greenbroke comes in.

A term usually used in horse training, a greenbroke animal is a newly trained animal who can perform specific behaviors, but, can't be completely trusted not to give into wild tendencies. Kind of like most people in society. I never want people to lose that wild desire in their hearts, but, wild has no place in our brain. I want to help tame the chaos that consumes so many people's minds.

I started GBBT after years of looking for something that was effective in helping to complement the work I had been putting into myself after losing a family member to suicide, enduring a severe TBI because of an accident, and struggling with acute postpartum depression. I found neurofeedback therapy and fell in love with everything about it. Not only was it more scientific in nature than a lot of alternative practices, but, it worked for both brain trauma and emotional imbalances. I saw a real need on the Emerald Coast for neurofeedback therapy and decided if no one else was going to step up to help, I would.

I hope no one ever feels embarrassed or afraid to call to schedule an initial brain map. I try and be open and honest about my life as much as I safely can be, so everyone feels welcomed and unjudged. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Lastly, well behaved pets are always welcome in my office!

Tame your brain; Let your soul stay wild.
